Five Australian Artists You Need To Know About (A-Z)

June 7, 2017

It is officially that time of the month where we highlight 5 Australian artists who are holding it down for this beautiful country right now. Enjoy the list, let us know who your favourites are and share the love with your friends.

Erik Sanders

Brisbane, you guys have first up with Erik Sanders repping your city and setting new standards for the scene nation wide. Apparently this kid has been releasing music for about a year now and he is definitely doing something right.

The recent WVS signee has collaborated with one of the country's favourite rappers, Allday and has an impressive catalogue of melodic trap heat. He has recently released the video to his new single titled "Mission" and we are among the many people who are loving it! Sanders Season is the Mission and Behind the Greens gracefully accepts and approves of this message. Check out the slick new visuals below.

François

Melbourne's very own François has been making quite a splash on the scene since the start of 2017. He began this year by catching the attention of Triple J Unearthed with his fresh electronic/hip hop brain child titled "untitled1". The next few months saw him light up a few stages around the city and we hear through the grape vine that he also signed to Alt. Music Group (Congrats on the success François).

Jumping from success to success, this young and talented musician has released the video to his new and ridiculously catchy single titled "Last Dolla". The track sounds like what you would expect from a Drake x Kaytranada collaboration. So basically, it's sonic gold! The video is colourful, playful and oh so Melbourne. François, we love it! Please continue to make this city proud.

Jordan Dennis

This next heat seeker is only 19 years old and already gives the veterans a run for their money. A member of Melbourne's Billy Davis, Jordan Dennis has been on the radar of many music connoisseurs for quite some time now.

Relatively new to solo work but honestly, when you listen you can't tell. He has this super fresh soulection vibe about him that we really cannot get enough of! We hear that he is working on a solo project that we are eagerly waiting on kind of in the same way you wait for the waiter to deliver that cake you shouldn't be eating because of your "diet" but you just know its about to be heaven in your mouth.

This guy is definitely one to watch and an artist that we definitely recommend that the city gets behind. In fact, if you're free on June 11th head down to Howler to catch him on stage along side other names who represent the future of Australian music. Oh, and check out his latest video.

Juñor

If somebody asked us to describe this next artist in three words, our description would be simple: TOO MUCH SAUCE.

Of this months list, Juñor is arguably doing the most for the Australian scene right now. The man is the face and the voice of possibly the most prominent media outlet for hip hop in this country; AUD'$. He mans the decks for one of Australia's hottest rap artists right now; Ivan Ooze and he casually does huge international collaborations with one of Chance The Rapper's producers (Nate Fox) and international hip hop heavy hitter, Mann.

We hear that he is currently on tour, hitting Brisbane on June 8th (Black Bear Lodge), Melbourne on June 9th (Trill) and Sydney on June 28th (The Wall). We have seen this guy live before and you do not want to miss it! Stream his latest below.

Rydah

Coming all the way from Manchester, UK, and based in Melbourne, AUS. One of the latest signings of Sydney based juggernauts, Pushin Keyz. Ladies and gentlemen, meet Rydah.

Having already worked with names like Lil Flip and Crooked I, it really isn't a surprise that Rydah's latest EP titled Kazuko featured in the top 10 Australian iTunes charts and also charted in the UK. Of course we had our team listen to the project (Basically had it on repeat because it's that good) and all we can say is that the rest of the world is about to start looking to this city as if we are the new Toronto.

BTG favourites from the EP: "Blow Out" (Feat. Kennyon Brown, Intalekz & Mistah Mez), Muggsy Bogues & Xannie N Blow (Feat. Mistah Mez)

Stream the whole EP below.
