Five Australian Artists You Need To Know About (A-Z)

May 3, 2017

We are back with our monthly list of five local artists you should know about right now, from A-Z. Thank you for all of your support so far, enjoy the list and get familiar!

First up, we have a group who some how manage to be the most smooth and fresh thing we have heard come out of Melbourne in a very long time!

These genre benders are a 3 piece band who mould elements of soul, electronic and R&B music all together to create sonic bliss. The trio are a part of REAL Collaboration and although we haven't got a chance to catch these guys live yet, we are waiting! Ladies and gentlemen, vibe out and get lost in Belove!

J. Love

Young and gifted.

If we had to explain J. Love in two words, that would be it. His sound is raw, it's gritty, it's real. The young Melbourne rapper has been busy too, sharing stages with some of the cities greatest. It's safe to say that this kid has a bright future spreading some of the darkest music we love so much.

Dollar Rhyme$ Somewhere in AU$.

If you haven't already heard of this guy, you've been living under a rock! 2017 has seen Midas.Gold catapult the Australian hip hop scene onto the global stage with the success of his single 'Work it Out'.

We'll be honest, the entire 'For What It'$ Worth' project released in late 2016 is amazing! Of this months list, he is possibly our favourite. Midas.Gold, congratulations on all the success!

Mistah Mez

Next up, the Don of Sydney's hip hop scene, Mistah Mez.

This man has just released his highly anticipated 'Strange Tings' EP and we love it! The production throughout the entire project is so crisp. The auto tune rap style, which is usually kind of played out, is actually very well executed by Mistah Mez. Like, world class execution.

The project hosts a couple of nice features from Lazy J and Kennyon Brown and long story short, if you still haven't heard of this man then you best get familiar. Sydney, you should be proud!

Yung $aiyan

Yung $aiyan is the newest entry on this list in terms of time releasing music. But this kid is beyond impressive. Despite being a new contender, his latest release puts him on par with some artists who have been doing this for years.

The young Melbourne rapper recently enlisted the help of fellow Melbourne trap lord, Zhane White, for his new single 'Dreams'. The flows are fresh, the bars are kind of brilliant and the bass is kicking. Yung $aiyan, we are fans. Keep doing what you are doing!
